Father: Mark Pratt – 46

He was born and raised in the city of Melbourne; Mark's wealthy
parents smothered their only son with the finest things money could
buy. However, because both of Mark's parents not only smothered him
with gifts, but genuine affection finding plenty of time to spend
with him, he was able to grow up as a well-adjusted and even-
tempered man.

Mark powered through his primary and secondary schooling, which
earned him a position at Melbourne University, which delighted him
greatly. This meant he didn't have to leave home of the next four
years while he completed a double degree in the Bachelor of Business
studies and a Bachelor of Arts.

As fate would have it, during his first year at Melbourne
University, Mark took notice one of the international students that
was walking by while he was waiting in line at one of the
university's canteens. This poor girl had just dropped one of her
more heavier books, and as she was about to bend down to pick it up,
he came up to her and said "Allow me." As to which he then proceeded
to pick up her book and handed it back to her. As they both caught
sight of one another, (as he handed the book back over to her) they
instantly fell under each other's spell.

Mark spent the following year trying to court Sophia and eventually
she gave in to his repeated marriage proposals, over a home cooked
candle light dinner. During his final year at Melbourne University,
the couple wed, with Mark's parents gladly flying over all Sophia's
close relatives from Italy (Rome).

Mark latter graduated from his double degree and found work in a
large white-collar firm. Shortly after that, both Mark and Sophia
moved into their new home that was not far from his original
residence.

A few years latter Mark and Sophia had a son whom they named
Raphael, after Mark's own father. However, not long after Raphael
was born, Mark was transferred to one of the firm's country
departments located in Victoria's own Gippsland. After the move
which Mark was not happy about, they settled into the township of
Moe.

It was several years later when Mark and Sophia gave birth to their
daughter Maria whom was named after Sophia's mother. Mark himself,
has become a proud farther of two, who dotes on his wife constantly,
and always seems to find time for both his children who both have a
deep respect for him.

Mother: Sophia Pratt – 46

Sophia was born into a large family of nine. Being the middle child
she always felt that she couldn't get enough attention from those
around her, however she never once felt unloved by her family
members whom all shared a close relationship with each other.

Sophia's family was your typical middle class family living in
Italy's capital city of Rome. Her mother and father ran a local
Italian restaurant called Piede Folla (Translated means "Crowbar
Crowd"), which still puzzles Sophia to this day as to why her
parents chose such an eccentric name for an Italian restaurant.

It was at the young age of 5 when Sophia was enrolled into one of
the local state schools in Rome, where her natural beauty and kind
heart started to really shine. She also found that her academic
achievements drew her a lot of attention from her piers, which only
drover her to work harder. It was also at this stage that her
interest in various art styles was founded, during an art excursion
in the 5th grade to the state art gallery. She adored the amazing
detail and effort that must of went into creating such pieces of
art; which inspired her to start drawing herself so that she could
be remembered for doing something that great.

During her high school years, Sophia had little time to concentrate
on her artwork, as she was required to help wait tables in her
parent's restaurant. However this by no means lessen her ambition to
become a great artist and she worked extra hard winning an art award
for her extremely artistic work on a modem re-interpretation of
Leonardo Davinci's The Mona Lisa which also awarded her a 25,000
lira scholarship to the university of her choice. By the time she
had graduated from her high school, she was valedictorian of her
class receiving the highest honors and accolades for her artwork.

Applying for many international degrees across the globe, she was
surprised to be offered a position at Melbourne University, which
seemed a world away from home. However she knew she couldn't
possible pass up this unique opportunity. So when the time came,
there were many tears, but her parents supported their daughter's
ambitious adventure to the land down under, whom they were most
proud of.

During her first year studying her Bachelor of Fine Arts, she was
met by a strong willed man by the name of Mark Pratt, and when their
eyes met, she had fallen head over heels for him.

The more time they spent together, the deeper she would fall for
Mark, and when after only knowing her for 4 weeks he proposed
marriage she had to decline his proposal, but she knew that wouldn't
stop him.

You see she was highly conflicted over this on many levels. One she
was afraid of not being able to go back to live in Italy with her
family whom she loved so. Yet, if she kept rejecting him, she might
lose her only true love. Eventually though, her heart won out, and
she agreed to his marriage proposal.

Because Sophia's student visa was going to run out before Mark and
her were to be married, Sophia enrolled into a dip-ed course
(Teacher Training) at Melbourne University which lasted for that
whole year, which also meant Mark and Sophia could see each other
more often. And then the wedding finally came.

What delighted her even more was the extreme generosity his parents
showed in bringing her whole family over from Italy so they could
attend the wedding.

It was only a few years later when Sophia gave birth to her only son
Raphael. During this time she had spent many hours making money by
selling the paintings that she had made.

It was a rude shock for both Mark and Sophia when they found out
that Mark had been transferred to the firm's country department, but
they made the move, as they held the firm believe that as long as
they were together, that they would be happy wherever they had to
live.

After arriving in Moe, Sophia was quite surprised to receive an
offer of a teaching position teaching art at one of the local
primary schools, when the principal over heard her talking to one of
the other mum's about her diploma of education while enrolling
Raphael into grade prep.

It was a number of years before Sophia gave birth to Maria whom was
named after her own mother.

Sophia grew up to be a well-educated woman, who loves her children
dearly and enjoys the continuous doting her husband pours all over
her. She it quite witty at times and enjoys the new life her
ambitious adventure has taken her on, enjoying the company of all
the new friends she has made, she feels she couldn't ask for anymore.

Little Sister: Maria Pratt – 12

Maria could be described as cute and adorable because she is,
however like all little girls is prone to throwing temper tantrums,
which is something that hardly happens anymore, now that she has
turned twelve.

She still loves her cuddly teddy bear she got when she was six, and
Barbie dolls are still the in thing, but like most twelve-year-old
girls she has already begun the path to puberty, so most that know
her feel that this is the quite calm before the impending storm.

Aside from this she still looks up to her big brother Raphael and
enjoys giving him lots of hugs and kisses on the check.

There is seldom moment where Maria is not doing something, whether
its going to a friends place or trying to get Raphael to play
dollies with her, which after about an hour of nagging, he concedes
so that she will be happy, although, most of the time Raphael is
able to convince Maria to play a two-player video game with him
instead (most of the time), and in most cases, she just enjoys
watching her big brother play a lot of the harder video games that
she feels that are too difficult for her to play.

When Maria was enrolled at St. Kieran's primary school, she found it
quite easy to make lots of friends among all the kids there, and has
become quite popular as a result.

She has shone remarkable talent in her artistic abilities and
someday dreams of becoming an artist just like her "Mummy".
Currently she is in grade six and is enjoying all the attention boys
are oddly (in her mind) showing her.

Grandmother: Patricia Pratt – 89

Patricia was born in the bustling and growing city of Geelong and
was the 3rd of seven children.

During her primary school years, Patricia dreamt of becoming part of
the workforce making her own way through the world, but this also
felt like a farfetched dream. However this did not deter her and she
worked hard through her primary school years and proved to be quite
an academic, being rated the top in her class.

Unfortunately, the range of subjects she was able to study at high
school didn't give her much of a wide enough spectrum to fully
stretch out her extremely academic skills, thus she was forced into
training as a secretary/typist. But she smartly used her spare time
in borrowing books from the library on subjects like Maths, Business
Studies and Music (her secret passion).

Eventually she graduated from high school and was force into going
to a finishing school by her parents. She felt like she was going to
a brain washing camp where they were telling her how she was
supposed to act. But with that knowledge in mind she didn't let if
affect her; she just did what she had to do and say, so she could
get out into the workforce.

Her natural beauty saw her quickly employed as a typist for a large
stock exchange company. And as fate would have it, during a routine
inspection, the owner of the company decided to handle the
inspection personally, and then he came across Patricia's desk and
in all stereotypical fashion, he fell in love with her at first
sight.

It wasn't long before he started to send her flowers each day she
worked at the firm, and finally he asked her out. Of course she
tuned him down because at that time, married woman weren't allowed
to work, and that would spoil all the dreams she had, had since she
was a small child. However, her heart was not made of stone, and she
allowed herself to fall in love with him, a decision she has never
regretted for an instant. Of course that meant that she had to give
up her job, but unlike so many other woman at the time, she was not
expected to be a housewife, and with time on her hands took up
learning the piano, which she became quite proficient at playing.

It was a few years after they had married before Patricia got
pregnant and gave birth to her son Mark. She enjoyed spending a lot
of her time with her son, and used to like playing the piano for him
on many occasions and even taught him a little. But she could have
never been prouder seeing her son grow up into the fine man he had
become. She was even more ecstatic when her son finally gave her
grandchildren that she could spoil rotten.

Patricia Pratt is a kind heart person who loves it when her son
brings the grandchildren over to visit. Aside from this, her and her
husband enjoyed going out and attending many public functions as the
social lights they have become.

School/Occupation:

Full Time student at Radford University, and part time worker as a
tech assistant at Radford University.

Skills:

Due to an enjoyment of console gaming, he can puzzle solve well

and this has an added bonus of being able to think strategically and
logically when the pressure is on. He is also able to fix small
problems with computers, however his skill base in this area is
growing.

Likes:

Raphael likes to play mostly console video games. The reason behind
this is quite long.

When he was in grade six his parents brought the family a Nintendo
Entertainment System (NES). At this time, Raphael had a hard time
learning to read, (I know he's in grade six and having trouble
reading), but when his parents brought the NES, he was hooked into
it immediately. But you see the catch was that to be able to play
video games, you needed to be able to read back then and each
Nintendo game came with a small, but thick booklet filled with text
and color pictures. At first he just wanted to look at the pictures
inside, but slowly his natural curiosity for a lack of a better word
made him want to know what was written in the game manuals. Thus
Raphael forced himself to learn how to read and has since never
looked back. Of course this was just the pre-cursor, and subsequent
games consoles came out which furthered his love of everything
Nintendo. He liked a wide range of games but he really enjoyed
playing the SNES role playing games, also know as RPG's. Suffice to
say he is a Nintendo nut, and with the recent release of the
GameCube he just can't wait to get his hands on one.

Another passion of his is to go bike riding up at the local bush
reserve in Moe called The Edward Hunter Reserve. Here he is able to
ride down hills as fast as his mountain bike can go, the unfortunate
downside though is riding back up, but a small hurt, Raphael
believes, is well worth it.

Other things he likes to do is read and write. This really is a flip
side to his younger self, which loathed reading like the plague.
However Raphael discovered that reading a good sci-fi book is almost
like playing a cool RPG video game, so this very much lifted
enthusiasm in wanting to read these books. One such book that really
sparked the reading bug in Raphael is a book titled: "The Book of
Shadows" by Stan Nicholls and its sequel books, "The Shadow of the
Sorcerer" and "A Gathering of Shadows".

Aside from just reading; his improved English skills have allowed
him to think outside the square and actually write stories of his
own. Many he has started but he has still yet to finish what he has
written. It also helped him to want to write his own books by
reading from a vast variety of books by different authors. This has
allowed him to expand his creative mind, (which he has
unintentionally held back for so long) so he can form his own unique
writing style.


Dislikes:

Raphael is not overly pedantic about most things; his main dislike
more or less comes into the food categories. For example, any food
that he can taste honey in will make him want to vomit, and most
likely he will. The reason behind this is purely a taste thing; he
just can't stand it.

Other dislikes would include however, not having a shower when he
gets up each morning, which is obviously because he doesn't want to
smell himself. Missing meals is also something that can irritate
him, but he will usually work through lunch and try to make it up by
eating more at dinnertime.

This isn't necessarily a major dislike, but when new Nintendo games
come out he usually can't wait to go out and buy them (he can be a
bit of an impulse games shopper at times), yet when he is out of
cash that can annoy him; that he can't buy that game there and then.

General rudeness by others when it can been seen to be deliberately
and not accidentally inflicted on himself or others, and in
accordance to that, is because he doesn't like to see others being
mistreated, as they are human like everyone else.

During his secondary schooling: English to start with, and then it
moved into a great

dislike of Maths.

Please note, just because he has a dislike of Maths, does not mean
that he is not good at Maths; just that he at that point in his
life, he could not see how Maths was going to be beneficial to
himself.

Complied with the politics he encountered during his high school
years, this left him very little time to concentrate on his studies,
thus as Maths started to get harder for him the less he wanted to
part take in it. (Rest assured he is still a competent
mathematician).


Hobbies:

His hobbies include the things that he likes, they kind of go hand
in hand to some extent. Playing video games, especially RPG's as
explained above, reading and writing books which is also explained
above as is his love of mountain bike riding.

To further expand on this, Raphael loves to keep the game boxes for
each of the games he purchases. Keeping them in mint condition is a
priority for Raphael, as he often likes to get out his game boxes
and just lay them across his bed, admiring them.

So, does he have a secret passion for art? Of course he does, his
mother Sophia is quite a talented artist, and has always encouraged
him to try and express himself artistically. However, poor Raphael
has not been able to progress past stick figure drawings, as he
spends a lot of time playing video games. This also accounts for why
many of his written works are never completed.

History:

*Early Childhood*

Raphael Pratt was born to loving parents Mark and Sophia Pratt on
the 24 / 12. At this time they were still living in their Melbourne
residence, which was not far from Raphael's grandparents on his
father's side.

As a young child Raphael was showered with love from both his
parents and grandparents giving him all the attention he could have
ever wanted. Lucky for Raphael this is all he ever wanted from them.
This meant he was never unhappy living life as a very hyperactive
child high on love.

As a little toddler of about three and four, Raphael has many fond,
even though they are fairly vague memories, of spending a lot of
time at his grandparents place running a mock across their massive
mansion. In one such incident, Raphael had managed to clime up to
one of the top shelves in his grandparent's massive library. The
bookcase was built into the wall and stood about eight foot tall
complete with a rail ladder. In a fit of panic they tried everything
to get Raphael to come down, but all he did was just smile back as
he thought that this was only a fun game. He did not realize that if
he fell, that he could end up killing himself. They ended up bring
in a potable chair lift to safely bring Raphael down as they feared
moving the rail ladder towards him might cause Raphael to jump off
the bookshelf. He could never quite figure out why he was henceforth
banded from Grandma's and Grandpa's library, however later in life
when he was much older and was reminded about the bookshelf climbing
incident he did come to realize what danger he had put himself in.

Shortly after the age of 5, Raphael's dad was transferred to another
department located in the country. Raphael was saddened at this when
he realized that they were going to have to move and that he would
not be able to visit his grandparents as often as he was used to.
Therefore he decided to run away from home, blaming his parents for
the unwarranted move into the country. However, Raphael didn't get
very far as he was caught by their next-door neighbor Ms Lamberty,
who was an elderly lady that used to come over and bring her
homemade apple pie which Raphael absolutely loved. It took awhile
for Raphael to adjust to the move to the Gippsland region, but the
city of Moe's welcoming atmosphere eased the burden of the move
somewhat.

And to Raphael's delight, his grandparents did come over to visit.
However, seeing that even on a good day, the trip to Moe from
Melbourne takes over one and a half hours by car (back then even
longer – two hours plus, if you were lucky), which makes it a trip
that his grandparents aren't able to make very often. This is
because the long trip takes a lot out of his grandparents in their
old age.

*Primary School*

It wasn't long before Raphael was to start his first year at primary
school. So he was taken down to be enrolled at the local primary
school in Moe and his mother Sophia was offered an art teaching
position with the school. After some careful thought and
consideration, she took the art teaching position at the school.

Raphael was kind of glad to have his mum teaching at the school as
it at first provided a nice comfort zone for him to fall back into.
However this was short lived when he was in about grade three, as
number of students decided to tease him about being a "mummy's boy".
At first, Raphael just ignored their pointless ranting, until the
pointless ranting quickly evolved into physical abuse. This quickly
alienated Raphael from most of the other school children in his
grade, as they didn't want the same thing happening to themselves.
Raphael was too afraid of telling anyone in a position of authority
about what was going on for fear of making matters worse.

However Raphael's mother started to suspect something was amiss when
she noticed the bruising across his legs and long his back. When she
confronted his classroom teacher, as to why he didn't notice what
was going on. He simply said that he did not like her son and that
he couldn't care less.

Suffice to say, the teacher in question was fired from his teaching
position in the weeks that followed when Sophia brought this
information directly to the principal. However, this only made the
bullying worse, and it wasn't long before Raphael hated going to
school (like he didn't already). This caused his grades to slip, and
consequently, he ended up having difficulty in learning how to read.

Eventually, Sophia was able to get Raphael to tell her who these
bullies were, but the best the principal was able to do, was to
bring in the parents of the bullies and explain what has been going
on. In addition to this, the bullies were suspended for a whole
week. The proviso was that if the bullying continued, the bullies
would be expelled from the school permanently.

Sophia, concerned for her son, tried to give her son some extra help
with his studies. But Raphael didn't want a bar of it; she was his
mum, not his teacher. And so he would only play up and not listen to
her when she tried to help him.

Sophia consulted Raphael's new classroom teacher and many other
members of the school staff. They suggested that they get Raphael a
tutor. As he might listen to one if he wasn't going to listen to
her. However, when they got a tutor in for Raphael, he just acted up
as much as he did with his mother, and the poor tutor didn't know
how to get him to settle down. Quickly, she informed Sophia that she
could not help him.

This lead to Raphael's parent's conclusion that their son might be
dyslectic, and they found out that there was a medical board down in
Melbourne that could assess to see if this was the case. However,
the waiting list was enormously long. But they still booked Raphael
in, even though he would have to wait until he was in year eight to
get the testing done. (And when the testing was done, it was
discovered that he did not have this medical condition. He was just
bright in some areas and dull in others.)

Raphael's parents believed that just this wasn't good enough, even
after trying all they could; waiting that long wasn't going to cut
it. They needed to find a more creative way to get through to
Raphael. Well, while Raphael was in year five and shortly after his
baby sister Maria was born, Raphael's parents discovered a gaming
system called a Nintendo Entertainment System. This system had been
on the market for a few years now.

Could this be the solution they were looking for in getting Raphael
to learn how to read? If nothing else interested him, maybe games
will. Of course Raphael took to it like there was no tomorrow and
spent many hours playing various titles that were released for the
system. However Raphael's curiosity eventually got the better of
him, and he started to want to know what information was written
down in the game manuals that Nintendo placed in with their games.

However, because Raphael's parents told him that if he wanted to
know what information was in the game manuals, he would have to
learn how to read. Thus Raphael had only one choice, and that was to
bang his head against a brick wall (Yeah okay, he only did this once
^_^). Much to his distaste of reading at this point in his life, he
discovered that reading things that you are actually interested in
is quite a fun experience; thus as he got better at reading, his
love of video games was able to advance to the next level.

This really started a life long passion of video games for Raphael,
as it delivered him from the pain that school life had brought him.
Basically giving him a place where he could escape the pain he was
forced to endure, and also allowed him to realize that what he most
wanted to do with his life was to make Nintendo games that others
would enjoy. This was all in the hope that the games that he dreamed
of making would be able to help someone else in the way it helped
him.

*High School*

Of course the battle was not over, he still had a long way before he
was ever going to catch up academically, and when he reached high
school he had another set of hurdles that he had to endure.

As Raphael parents decided to place him into a state school instead
of a private school, all those that he had gotten to know, and had
made friends with were no longer with him in this new atmosphere he
was introduced to. The decision behind this also lied in the fact
that the bullying had started up again, and they didn't want the
progress Raphael had made to regress in on itself.

He found getting by hard at this new school, so for the first
quarter of the year he spent most of his time sitting by himself out
in the schoolyard hoping that know one would speak to him.

Eventually though, someone did and for the most part Raphael was
kind of glad that they did. After this, Raphael met up with this
person's other friends, and instantly Raphael was part of a group.

He was unable to see why these people would be so ready to accept
him as one of their own. However, when he studied the group dynamic
among the individuals, he realized that it was a group of people who
only hung out together for mutual reasons.

There were many times where power plays took part in the group, but
everyone knew their place, even Raphael. He gave his friendship
freely, and treated each member with respect, but he found this
taxing from one week to the next, as friendships changed on a weekly
basis.

He kind of felt like a double agent, where he was friends with both
parties, and genuinely felt that he was friends with these people,
but he was continually forced to choose which side he was to be on.

Eventually by the ninth grade the two or more parties that made the
group up at that time joined together, in a unified front against
Raphael. He didn't see it coming, and he was never able to fully
understand why it took place, as it wasn't like he had given any
real reason as to why they felt the need to take this action.
However it was about the middle of the year when this took place.
Raphael's `friends' during lunchtime had all gone around to the
usual meeting place, where they hung out away from all other
students and teachers. After some light discussion, a group of about
three males came around and bashed the crape out of Raphael, leaving
him gasping for breath and then took off. Each one of his friends
just looked on, as Raphael fought back tears, as he didn't want them
to see him cry.

For the remainder of that lunchtime, his `friends' followed him all
over the school grounds to make sure he didn't tell anyone about
what had happened.

When Raphael had gotten home that day, he told him mum and dad that
he didn't want to go back to school anymore but wouldn't tell them
why. After the following week had passed, Raphael was forced to go
back to school, where he found himself alone once more.

He eventually made a friend with a girl in the following months to
which they became quite good friends, however she had also made
friends with Raphael's old group of friends, and he ended up finding
himself hanging out with these people (that had previously had him
bashed) once more.

By year 12, the group had split into two separate groups where
Raphael was still friends with members in both groups. Even though
he stopped trusting many of the people around him, he was made to
feel like this was better than nothing.

Eventually, by the end of the school year, Raphael was betrayed by
one of his close friends and was accused of betrayal himself. For a
short while he hung out the other faction of his old group, who were
kind, and welcomed him with open arms. However it just didn't seem
the same anymore, and Raphael ended up alone as he started.

*Young Adult*

Through all this, his grades had suffered, and as a result, was not
able to get into university and do the programming course that he
had wanted to do. However, he was accepted into a TAFE course, which
gave him a skill base in using and maintaining computer technology.

However, through much of this course he did little to get to know
his classmates after his experiences at both his primary and
secondary schooling. But Raphael knew within himself that he didn't
want to remain a recluse for the rest of his life, and in the last
few months he did try to involve himself more with the class of
about 20 or so students. But he found this resulted in very little,
as he had left it to late to make proper friends with the students
in his course.

He did however keep in contact with the girl he had made friends
with during high school, and he spent many lunch breaks walking over
to her house to spend time talking and playing video games.

After he completed his TAFE course at the end of the year, he was
able to re-apply for University but unfortunately he was not
accepted at any of the universities that he had personally applied
for.

What Raphael didn't expect was that his mother Sophia, without
telling her son put in some university applications for him at some
international university institutions across the world. And one late
summers evening Raphael received a letter congratulating him on his
acceptance into Radford University, which was located near the city
of Blacksburg in the state of Virginia in the United States of
America.

Raphael first thought that his mother was trying to get rid of him,
but then she explained how she met his father, and that this
opportunity would be like a great adventure, just like the one she
had.

Raphael reluctantly sent the acceptance letter back to the USA,
saying that he was happy to accept the offer. Within a short month
Raphael was boarding his first jet aircraft carrier across the
Pacific Ocean.

*Present Day* – by Sailor Myth reckoning

After arriving in Blacksburg, Raphael did his best to get settled in
at Radford University. He knew he couldn't just live off the money
his parents were sending him so he decided to try and get some work
by applying for a position as tech assistance at the Radford
University.

It was about 2 weeks latter before he heard back that he got the
position. After this Raphael started to live a mundane life in
Blacksburg but he thanked his lucky stars that at least it wasn't
the war zone Australia had been for him.


Personality:

If we were to first look at Raphael's core, his true self, we would
get a better idea of who he really is, however due to his horrid
experiences that he had to endure during his primary and secondary
school life, Raphael had become a person who had reassessed somewhat
preferring to keep to himself rather than make waves in any given
situation.


This has meant through much of his high school life, he has not been
able to get close to anyone. Yet he did try by trusting those around
him, which inadvertently opened him up for others to thrash at his
tender soul. So making friends started to become a really hard thing
for Raphael to achieve. And when his friends he did make betrayed
him, he literally forgave them because he no longer had the
confidence in himself, or contained any self worth. He literally
believed that others would not accept him for the person he was,
seeing this had on more than one occasion dealt quite an emotional
blow.

So, as it stands, Raphael's core has literally been stretched from
one side to the other, and has only in the past year or so undergone
a massive reconstruction. He knows that what he has gone through
will only make him stronger. And he is ready to try and become part
of this world again, even though he is still unsure how the world
will receive him this time around.

He is very much on a self quest in wanting to find his true self
once more. As he does not want to be this person that he had become,
hence the `massive reconstruction' his core underwent not so long
ago.

With his move to the USA, and relative short time he has had at
Radford University; he has found that a lot of the school yard
politics of his yesteryears not contained within the Radford
University walls; put simply, he is now among a more mature crowd of
people, who are happy for him to live in his own little world.

This has meant that he has had his confidence boosted considerably
enough for him to go and apply for a tech assistance position at
Radford University; which he was ecstatic about when he found out he
had gotten the position. This meant he now had a solid point of
income, which would allow him to indulge in one of his greatest
passions, playing video games.

A very important point to note about Raphael is respect. Respect to
Raphael, is quite a major thing. It is how he bases his entire
being; on respecting those around him. It may only have to be a
small simple act to earn his respect, but conversely the special
condition that needs to arise for such an event to occur, only
happens every now and then. More or less, his heart is still
recovering from the years of self-doubt, however if someone is
trying to befriend him, he will do his best to reciprocate warmly.

He is by no means cold hearted towards all those around him, however
he can come across a little too aloof at times when meeting large
groups of people, but he is better able to get to know someone in a
series of one on one conversations. The unfortunate thing is though,
if someone does take the time to befriend him, he can seem a little
to clingy to that individual. However, when he starts to find his
footing among those around him, his clingy tendencies become less
apparent.

Raphael is able to pull out a few surprises from the depths of his
core, but this is also due to the fact that he wants to change. For
instance, his past lack of self-confidence only affected the way he
interacted with others in a more social setting. Now, even though he
can be a little shy at times, Raphael attempts to mingle with his
peers at many of the Radford Universities many public events. The
point being, when it comes to defending those around him, he is more
readily able to spring into action and become this strong person he
is trying to be emotionally, using that emotion to strengthen his
resolve in protecting others from harm. This is because he believes
those with power have the responsibility to protect those that
otherwise can't for one reason or another. It's this energy within
him that gives him the strength and the courage to change the world,
but as it stands that resource only comes into use when in the
moment of protecting others from harm.

Another personality trait that others can find annoying about
Raphael, is that when it comes to food he can become a little bit of
a martyr, where he will eat less than his fill if there is little or
not enough food (in his mind) left for everyone else. However, with
each day that passes Raphael by at Radford University, the further
along he makes his way in discovering who he truly is.

At his true core, Raphael is a somewhat reserved but confident
individual, who believes that everyone should be given a fair go. He
has very high morals, and is incredibly loyal to those he considers
to be his friends. Simply put, if you become a friend of his, you
are a friend for life. This is what makes it very hard for him to
let others go that he has grown to be good friends with. This
closeness he shows usually gets mistaken for other emotions, which
aren't actually there. In truth they would be close, but he would
never actually cross that fine line, as he sees them as his friends
and he always treats his friends the way he expects to be treated by
them.

But this has never meant in anyway, that if those he calls friends
were to fall off the pedestal he has placed them on, that he would
think any less of them. Quite conversely Raphael recognizes that we
are all human and that we are prone to being human more often than
not. There have been many occasions where Raphael has stood up for
his friends when they haven't been around; and in saying that, his
friends would never know that he has stood up for them. This is
because he isn't looking for any extra credit or attention from
them. He stands up for them because of the deep respect he has for
them; that they can simply say with confidence to anyone they meet
that he is their friend.

Other facets of Raphael's core show him to give his trust to others
too easily, which would account for why he was such an easy target
for bullies during his primary and secondary school life. As stated
before, he believes that everyone should be given a fair go, and so
this is why he always gave his full trust to each person he meets,
whether or not they deserved it. This is due to the fact that he
believes that you cannot judge someone that you do not actually know
regardless of what he has been told by others about the individual
in question; e.g. He has a mind of his own. He will believe what he
wants to believe, and not what he is told to believe.

He also has a passion for all those around him, and always views
others to be like himself. That being, happy individuals that only
want to live in peace with each other, and that show compassion
towards each other. Raphael genuinely feels that all people are to
be viewed as equals.

It is a sad time when people lose these qualities, yet these
qualities are not lost to Raphael, as he is already on the path in
finding himself again. It won't be to long now before he really
starts to shine.

Descriptive:

When Raphael is standing upright his height measures roughly 173cm
and for his height he has a rather medium shaped build. His bodies
overall form is quite firm yet he definitely isn't a muscled bound
monster by any means.

Raphael's hair looks black in colour. However its actual colour is
an extremely dark brown. He has found that if he allows it to grow
too long his hair start to flip up at the sides, so he has his hair
cut fairly short, with it only being long enough for it to be combed
in the direction of his choosing. His hair however, is rather thick,
which tends to make his hair look quite scruffy, a look that he has
learned to put up with.

His skin tone has a basic olive complexion, but this shows up only
where the sun usually hits his skin, otherwise his skin is more of a
whiter colour. Raphael's hands will tend to be clammy; however his
skin is quite smooth aside from the naturally growing hair he has on
his body.

His face's overall structure isn't anything out of the ordinary. He
has a mouth, nose, ears, eyes and dimples when he smiles. The things
that are special about his face are things like:

1. The small scar he has on his left hand side of his chin

2. The fact that his ears aren't lobbed but are actually adjoined to
the side of his face (not on his checks mind you)

3. The fact that when he does smile that he gets these two really
big dimples on the sides of his face (I know I just stated that was
a standard characteristic, oh well).

4. His eyebrows a slightly joined together, but the connection is
only made up of a few hairs.

5. His nose isn't large, but has a barely noticeable bump along the
ridge of it.

His face's shape is not boxed out or chiseled to any great extent
but rather a scaled down version of this, where a more slender but
filled out appearance is achieved.

Raphael will generally have a relaxed if not tired look on his face,
but this is just a face he puts on to hide his real emotions when
they decide to try and show themselves.

The type of clothing that Raphael will wear on casual occasions is
something in the range of blue jeans with a t-shirt or polo top
(various styles and colours other than pink) with a pair of dark
colored socks and black runners accompanied by a leather jacket if
the weather conditions prove to be wet and or cold. If the occasion
is in a formal setting, he will wear the appropriate attire set for
that occasion.

Weapon: The Emerald Capricornus Blade

Uniform Descriptive:

Capricornus Knight's fuku is mainly brown, dark green with a splash
of white. The reasoning is that I wanted to keep close to the
colours that his elements represent. That said, I didn't use any sea
blue, yet water itself is actually clear, so I figure white is close
enough.

Capricornus Knight wears a brown leather vest that has a light green
Capricornus symbol printed onto the back, which will glow a light
green when he is using one of his powers. The three peal buttons are
about 2cm in diameter and fit snugly though the button holes on the
other side of the vest. The vest itself is usually worn open, unless
the weather conditions have become wet and or cold, which will
result in the vest being done up upon transform.

Underneath the leather vest is a fine cotton button up long sleeved
shirt that is a bright white in colour. The shirt itself is always
tucked in upon transform and contains a right hand chest pocket,
which has a light green embroidered Capricorn sea-goat symbol on the
front. The buttons themselves are made out of a cream white pearl
material that shaped like small flat goat heads. All the buttons are
buttoned up except for the top two buttons on the cotton shirt.

For his lower half he is wearing a pair of dark green velvet pants
that have a slightly less darker green scale pattern embroidered all
over it. A single scale from this pattern is about 3cm in width. The
belt Capricornus Knight uses is made out of a dark green Seaweed
that uses an emerald green buckle to complement the dark green
velvet pants.

Covering his feet are a pair of light green socks that cannot be
seen, as his brown leather boots stretch up over his ankles. The
boots themselves are pretty simplistic in design. They have a solid
leather sole that has attached to it a fairly smoothed out soft
leather shell that wraps around his feet. Most of the boots
themselves can't be seen as the velvet pants covers right down to
Capricornus Knight's ankles.

On his head, Capricornus Knight wears a 1 inch in width silver
circlet that brandishes two silver horns; one for each side (his
left and right) of his head. The horns themselves are about two and
a half centimeters in width at the base which ends up as a fine
point at the tip of the horn itself. In length the horns are about
15cm. The circlet it self can be removed from Capricornus Knight's
head and be used as a makeshift weapon when thrown towards an on
coming attacker. Because the horns face forward on a 45 degree
angle, the circlet has a 50 percent chance of the horns on the
circlet causing damage to Capricornus Knight's intended target.

Weapon Description:

The Emerald Capricornus Blade is a double-edged sword that has a
fine clear Diamond plating that encases the Emerald Capricornus
Blade's edges. This makes it highly resistant to breakage upon
direct impact. The blade itself gives off a natural glow when the
sun's light (or any other source of light) hits the blades surface.
If the blade itself is somehow broken, the wielder can channel their
own energy through the blade. That energy will then act as the
missing part of the blade that has been broken off. Conversely, this
method can also be used even if the blade is not broken to extend
the Emerald Capricornus Blade's overall length for a short period of
time (No longer than ten to fifteen seconds). However, when
Capricornus Knight is doing this, he will not be able to use any of
his other powers.

The guard protection for each side (x2) of the Emerald Capricornus
Blade has two goats' horns. The right hand side is made from a
Sardonyx crystal and the left hand side is made out of a Sapphire
crystal. Connecting the two horns, handle and the blade all together
is a flat triangle which has been morphed at the top so that it
resembles more of a flat diamond shape (made out of steel). Near the
top of this morphed triangle are two more gem stones (which features
as eyes), they are a Sardonyx crystal for the left hand side, and a
Sapphire crystal for the right hand side. The crystals used in the
design of this sword are there to represent both the Earthly and
Watery qualities that are both strongly entangled with the
Capricornus constellation and Star Sign.

Additionally, at the handle's hilt is a large white pearl that has
been encrusted into it. This is representing the coastline where
most pearls are usually found.

Why is that important? Because it is where the two elements
Capricornus is directly related to Soil and Water (land meets water)
work together in harmony with one another allowing pearls to be
produced.

The Emerald Capricornus Blade is also quite heavy. This makes
Capricornus Knight's attacks with it quite slow and easy to doge. A
strong blow against the blade will more often than not, knock the
blade right out of Capricornus Knights hands; as he will need both
of them to properly use this sword in his level 1 form.

The reason why the Emerald Capricornus Blade is so heavy to start
with, is because Capricornus Knight has to prove his worth to his
blade. Once he has done this (or as he is gaining the swords trust)
it will start to get lighter and be easier for Capricornus Knight to
use. Eventually, he will be able to easily lift and competently use
the Emerald Capricornus Blade using only his right hand (because he
is right handed).

The competent use of the Emerald Capricornus Blade, will be gained
over time. (The act of actually knowing how to properly use a sword
(his fighting skill, more or less)).





Transformation:

Transformation Item:

A small roughly 3 cm in length and 2 ½ cm in height, solid Emerald
Cornucopia.

Transform Phrase:

Capricornus Astra Power Transform.

(I prefer "Transform" to "Make Up", but if it has to be "Make Up",
so be it.)

Please let me know if I have to use the "Make Up" ending part of the
transform phrase.

Transform Description:

Raphael will grab hold of his Emerald Cornucopia into his right
hand. With his right arm parallel to the side of his body, he will
start to announce his transform phrase.

"Capricornus Astra Power Transform!"

As he is doing this, the Emerald Cornucopia will start to glow a
bright green color. Then with a bright flash of green light bursting
from the Emerald Cornucopia, a green energy will start to pour out
of it and fall to the ground below. This green energy will start to
form a pool of energy around Raphael's feet looking more like a
shroud of fog.

As this is happening, Raphael will bring the Emerald Cornucopia up
to his solar plexus, where it will temporality attach itself. He
will then let go of the Emerald Cornucopia, and leave both of his
arms dangling by his sides as the green energy underneath him lifts
him into the air (about one meter or so off the ground).

His current set of clothes disappears from his body to reveal that
the entirety of his body in now glowing a green color with a fish
scale pattern running across the surface of his body.

Ribbons of green energy will start to extend out of the Emerald
Cornucopia and fly around him. After circling him a few times, they
move around his waste and legs which reveals his velvet green pants.

As Raphael stretches out his arms in front of himself, the energy
ribbons extend up by swirling around his torso to revel his cotton
shirt and brown leather vest without the pearl buttons in place yet.
As these items are revealed, he will bend his arms back so that they
resume their previous position.

Raphael will then lift one of his legs up, so that he is holding his
foot is his right hand behind himself. The green energy ribbons then
zip around both his feet which will reveal his brown leather shoes.
As he lets go of his foot, his whole body is then made to spin
around a few times before the green ribbons dance across his brown
leather vest and places in three white pearls. Then with a bright
silver flash, a silver circlet appears on Raphael's head with the
two horns giving off a slight sparkle.

NB: The initiation of the sparkle will cause Raphael's body to
return to its normal color.

Lifting up his right hand, a spurt of green ribbons will fill his
opened palm and in another flash of light (green this time), his
Emerald Capricornus Blade will appear with his hand clenched around
the blades handle.

Finally, the Emerald Cornucopia will detach itself, and move down to
Raphael's waist. A few ribbons will twirl around his waist to revel
his seaweed belt with the Emerald Cornucopia becoming the buckle
holding it all together.

He is then quickly lowered back to the ground. The start of his
finishing pose shows Capricornus Knight standing upright holding his
swords blade at a 45 degree angle toward the ground. He will then
perform a half swing of his sword stopping the blade at the point
where it is facing directly at his enemy saying,

"...and you're next!"

Side Note:

Until Raphael gains the trust of his sword; when it appears in his
right hand the weight of the sword will be too much for him to
handle. Thus as he is being lowered, the swords tip will fall
directly down causing it to embed itself into the surface below. (It
will not embed itself into any other surface, other than soil. So in
the instance of any other surface like concrete or marble, it will
just slip to one of its sides.) In either case, Raphael will have by
this stage placed both of his hands around the swords handle in an
attempt to stop what had just happened.

This also results in giving Raphael a finishing pose of either him
kneeling down on one leg with both of his hands around the swords
handle, or Raphael kneeling down on both legs if his sword has
slipped to the side.





Powers:


Base Power: Nourishment

Power 1: No. of Uses: 2-3 per battle.

Name: Replenishment

Effect:

This is used to pump up his fellow comrades, by renewing their will
to fight and heals minor wounds. In general, it makes them feel okay.

Basically, stabilizing and or heightening that characters
emotional state.

Effect on Capricornus Knight:

What is given is also taken. What this means is that Raphael's
resolve must be quite strong before he decides to use this power,
otherwise he himself will lose his own will to fight.

Description:

A golden light will descend upon Capricornus Knight's intended
target and will cause that character's aura to glow a golden colour
for a few moments, before taking full effect.

Range:

Capricornus Knight will need to be within 100 meter radius of
his intended target.

Power 2: No. of Uses: 1 per battle.

Name: Cornucopia's Gift

Effect:

This power will allow Capricornus Knight to transfer some of his
current energy level to another character of his choice.

This will result in the receiving character being able to have one
extra use of "one of their own" powers for free, even if they don't
have the energy left to do so without any harm or consequence.

However this will result in Capricornus Knight losing one use from
each of his other powers.

Replenishment = Replenishment – 1

Effect on Capricornus Knight:

As stated above he will lose one use of each of his powers when this
power is used.

Replenishment = Replenishment – 1

Other than this, there are no other physical or metal backlash
effects from using this power.

Description:

A sparkling green energy will pour out from Capricornus Knight's
solar plexus and will rush over towards his intended target. Upon
reaching his intended target, the green energy will force its way
into his target's solar plexus, restoring their energy by the amount
sent to them.

Range:

Capricornus Knight will need to be within a minimum of a 30 meter
radius of his chosen target.


Explanation:


1. What star/planet/moon are you applying for?

I'm applying for the Astra character that is represented by the Star
constellation of Capricornus.

2. What are its physical properties? What does it mean? In what
constellation is it? Why did you pick it?

Well its constellation itself. I picked Capricornus because my own
star sign is; Capricorn. At first I wasn't sure how I could make
this character work, but when I asked a friend of mine about it, and
she was able to point me in the right direction. After that, it
seemed easy to write up this character's profile.

And then, after my first submission results were returned, I
realized many things that I didn't do correctly. And I apologize for
that. I am hoping that this new effort will be closer to what is
expected of a Sailor Myth profile.


3. What is the myth behind your god/goddess/angel/etc.?

From what I can discern Capricornus has fairly similar Mythological
& Astrological similarities. One of the biggest similarities is the
association of its Water and Earth properties.

These seem to work hand in hand, especially when you look at the
first paragraph from the provided link for Mythology, as it talks
about the "Horn of Plenty", where I derived my main base power as
nourishment.

It makes sense that nourishment comes in the form of food, and to
grow food you need Soil, Water and Sun light; from what I was
reading the Sun seems to play a part in this as well.

The website talks about the Sun taking nourishment form the
Capricornus constellation, and that it used the constellation as a
stable of sorts. In either case, it being there means that it would
be providing the last ingredient to make the food we are trying to
grow, grow.

So in a way, the three base elements are interrelated; where
Nourishment is the super class, to the elements that make it work;
Water, Soil (Earth), and Sunlight.

I do not have a guardian.


5. You may also wish to explain the relevance of your powers.

I based my characters powers, on the power of Nourishment, because
of two main reasons:

1. The strong association that Capricornus has with the elements of
Water (or the Sea) and Earth (or plainly Soil).

I know that Sunlight would also be needed to complete the
Nourishment Triangle; (being the 3 main things for plants/crops to
grow).

However, including Sunlight in that bundle would not be entirely
appropriate as it is still not classed as an element closely
entangled to the Capricorn Star Sign.

The reason I was looking for 3 elements is because the Capricornus
constellation is roughly shaped like a Triangle. And a triangle has
three main points.

2. Because of Capricornus direct association with the Cornucopia
(The Horn of Plenty), which provides an unlimited source of
nourishment.

Now, as my base power is Nourishment, most of my characters powers
are Healing and or Support based like powers. However, including an
attack power for my character feels inappropriate at this point in
time.

That said, when my character reaches super level, I would like to
give him an attack power then.

Level 1: Power 1: Replenishment

This power nourishes another characters physical and mental
attributes.

NB: Mental attributes as in emotional state not as in the magical
mental energies (which are used for powers).

Level 1: Power 2: Cornucopia's Gift

Because my characters power base is Nourishment, I believe that you
should be able to nourish your mental energies (the magical ones).
This is what this power does.

Understanding Raphael's History:

Early Childhood:

This was designed in accordance to Raphael's base power of
Nourishment. I was trying to showcase the fact that he was brought
up in a very loving and nurturing environment. I was also, trying to
show the reader a glimpse of what Raphael would be like, if he
didn't have to go through the trials he did in latter life.

Primary School:

This is actually a major section of my characters history. What I'm
trying to convey here is my characters individual strength in over
coming adversity in an extreme environment (where primary school is
really the first test of his overall character). I've also got a few
ties in here that link up with other sections of my characters
profile, eg. My characters passion for playing video games.

High School:

The primary purpose of this section was to have my character recess
somewhat into himself, so I would have a character that I could
further develop through Sailor Myth.

Young Adult:

This section has two primary purposes and they are to show my
characters individual strength in bring himself back into reality,
so that he can become a sociable character in the Sailor Myth world.
The second purpose was to bring my character close to a point in
which he can enter the Sailor Myth world.

Written Sample:

"Hey Raphael, come here a minute," shouted Mr. Quiggs, as he placed
down the computer monitor he was carrying onto the service desk
bench top.

Raphael put down the screwdriver he was holding and carefully placed
the computers casing back on before walking to the service desk.

"I've got a problem with this here monitor, I was just wondering if
you could take a look at it?" asked Mr. Quiggs as he put his right
hand onto the top of the monitor.

Raphael looked at the monitor for a moment, and then asked, "What's
wrong with it?"

"Well it's doing this weird color thing on the bottom right hand
corner, where there is this kind of red color bleed," said Mr.
Quiggs.

"Alright, lets have a look," replied Raphael as he picked the
monitor up and placed it next to a computer he had been working on
earlier that day.

Plugging in the monitor into the computer, Raphael booted up the PC.
When the login screen appeared, Raphael looked across the screen to
see if he could make out any weird color bleeding on the screen.
There was none.

"Mr. Quiggs, it doesn't look like anything is wrong with your
monitor?" stated Raphael.

"That is rather odd?" replied Mr. Quiggs, "As it has been doing this
for the past week now."

"How is your computer set up at home?" asked Raphael, letting slip
that he knew this was not school property. He then continued "Do you
have any large speakers next to your monitor for example?"

"Well... yeah. A few weeks back I brought a pair of speakers, but
the first time I used them was about a week ago," explained Mr.
Quiggs.

"Sounds like that might be the cause of the color bleed your screen
is experiencing. You see, the electromagnetic field produced by the
speakers is obviously interfering with your computer monitor. I
would have to assume these speakers aren't properly shielded,
resulting in the color bleed. Come have a look at this," said
Raphael.

Raphael picked up the computer he was working on before and placed
it next to the one he plugged Mr. Quiggs monitor into. Raphael then
hooked the PC up to a power supply and turned the PC around so the
power supply was facing the monitor. He then turned this PC on, and
the color bleed started to appear on the bottom corner of Mr. Quiggs
monitor.

"As you can see, the electromagnetic field produced by the power
supply is having the same effect you were seeing. Best thing I could
suggest is if you try placing the speakers you brought further away
from the monitor which should fix the problem you're having," stated
Raphael, and on that note he quickly powered down the PC he was
demonstrating this with.

"Thanks, I'll try that," replied Mr. Quiggs with a happy smile on
his face, as he picked up his computer monitor, which had been
safely unplugged by Raphael, and walked off toward the teacher car
park.

Raphael only hoped that no one saw him helping Mr. Quiggs. As he
knew that if he was caught by Alex the head tech guy at Radford
University, fixing teachers desktop computers instead of attending
to the school network, he would be out of a job. This was at least
the impression he was given when he first got here.

It was only ten minutes before the school bell was about to go so,
Raphael headed back to the computer he was working on and continued
to finish off what he was doing. It didn't take him long though as
all he needed to do was transfer over the old A drive for a new one
as the current one inside the computer had stopped working. However,
before Raphael was able to take the computer back to its classroom
he remembered that he needed to ask Alex about whether or not he
wanted the new service pack installed to the schools main server. So
picking up the computer in both hands Raphael started to make his
way over to the schools reception desk where Alex was fixing a
faulty server port. When he found Alex he had finished fixing the
server port, and was in a heavy discussion with the schools
principal.

"I'll just go place this computer back into its lab. He might be
there for the next ten minutes," thought Raphael, as he continued
past the reception desk and entered into the one of the nearby
computer labs.

Raphael quickly connected up the computer back to the school server
and made sure that it was all working properly. He then exited the
lab hoping that Alex was still talking to the school principal,
which he was. Raphael didn't have to wait long though as their
discussion had just about wrapped up.

As Alex turned to face Raphael, Raphael quickly blurted out, "Did
you want me to install the new service pack for the schools sever,
as it just finished downloading a few moments ago?"

"I was just about to ask you to do that, but wait until after the
school bell, otherwise, the students still working will lose their
work when the network goes down," explained Alex.
